When my dad left his job as a salesman at an electrical supply company in 2006 to sell memory cards and flash drives online, we all thought he was a little crazy. After all, my brothers and I had always told him that he should quit his job to sell his locally famous Stromboli. So when he responded with starting a company called Everything But Stromboli, it was meant as a family joke – not something we imagined would grow and develop over 20 years into the company we are today.
Twenty years later, we have had over 800 unique customers placing more than 6,300 orders in the last 12 months. And as of September 1, 2026, our warehouse shelves hold an incredible 13,500,000 Gigabytes of storage – that’s 13,500 Terabytes!
Just How Much Memory Is That?
To put 13,500 Terabytes into perspective, if we had that much storage in 2006, it would have been enough for approximately:
- 240 copies of the entire Library of Congress in 2006
- 168,000 of the largest iPods available in 2006
- 21 million CDs worth of data
- 422 million copies of Nintendo’s Zelda: Ocarina of Time video game for the N64
- 13 billion e-books
20 Years of Giving
We also didn’t realize back in 2006 how much meaningful giving we would eventually be able to do as a family – even though the company was founded on generosity. What inspired my dad to start selling on e-commerce platforms in the first place was my mom’s “addiction” to sponsoring as many children in need as she possibly could through Compassion International. When they reached ten sponsored children, my dad told her, “I need to find a way to fund all this.”
So he started buying and reselling products online so they could sponsor even more children.
Their commitment to generosity has continued to this day, with EBS helping fund projects both in our local community and around the world. From local youth centers, to summer camps in Ukraine, to children’s homes and trade schools in Uganda, our vision is to improve the world in tangible ways – with a focus on providing quality resources, care, and education for children and families in poverty throughout the world.
